I’ve spoken about my favourite Blonde Brow Products not long ago, but without decent brows to begin with you’re only going to get so far.
Brows can be a pretty personal thing, and rightly so. If eyes are the windows to the soul, these are the frames. So I’ve been salon-hopping for a while to find my favourite combo to keep my brows in check.
Let me introduce you to my current regime and why it’s deadly.
Body Shop Threading
While I’m confident enough in my own abilities to maintain my brows, there are times you absolutely need a pro to whip them into shape. I’ve loved the Benefit Brow Bar for a long time, the shape and attention to detail has always been excellent. However, as I become more conscious of the skin around eyes (hello mid-twenties) I began to stray to threading.
I started in Threads in House of Fraser, but The Body Shop quickly won out because it’s so much easier to get an appointment with their multiple locations and online booking system.
The reason I’ve come to prefer threading is because I prefer a softer shape seeing as my own brows are so fair and threading gives a lovely, natural finish. It’s also quite a comfortable experience, and remarkably quick. Not that waxing isn’t, but I find my skin is less red and obvious afterwards and there’s less of a sting more of a tiny prickle, if anything.
The Body Shop is also incredibly reasonable when it comes to price at only €12 for an eyebrow shape alone – and they have loyalty card for earning free treamtents, what’s not to love?
Eylure Eyebrow Tint
Top tip, you’re more likely to find the brown tint in a pharmacy. I’ve yet to find a Boots stocking anything bar the black. Scouse brow much?
Eylure Permanent Brow Tint in Brown is a superstar. Don’t be put off by the 2-shade range. 30 seconds here or there makes it easy as pie to customise your colour to be as light/dark/in between as you want. No going darker than you need in the salon to get the longevity, because you top up your tint in front of the TV.
Also for the cost of a tint in the salon (€13), you’ll get multiple tints at home whenever you want. Or, pick up a single application pack if you’re between tints but can’t make it to the salon. It’s almost foolproof to use it’s that simple. I don’t know if I’ll ever tint my brows anywhere outside of my bathroom ever again!
If I had any complaints, and this is reaching, I would wish it was just a little ashier, as the colour has a worrying warm streak to its richness – but I don’t think it’s necessary to bring out a blonde pack by any means, maybe just a cool brown option?
So if you too prefer your pre-product regime to save on the pennies but keep your brows on point – this might be your jam.
